Trip Planner (Volunteer)

The Role

The Trip Planner works closely with the Local Village Organiser to create a varied and engaging programme of outings that reflects the interests and needs of the local membership.

This role involves researching new destinations, venues and events, while considering the practical logistics of each outing, including travel distance, parking, accessibility, venue facilities and associated costs. The Trip Planner helps ensure every trip is enjoyable, well planned and accessible for members.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with the local volunteer team and members to understand which trips are most popular and identify ideas for future outings.
• Assess potential demand for new excursions before they are introduced into the schedule.
• Research new venues and attractions that will appeal to existing members while encouraging new people to join the service.
• Identify local and seasonal events that could add variety to the annual programme.
• Discuss proposed trips with the Local Coordinator and agree how new outings should be trialled or incorporated into the regular schedule.
• Prepare briefing notes for each trip, including key information such as routes, estimated journey times, mileage, parking arrangements, accessibility, venue costs and any other operational details.
• Provide administrative support for planned outings as required.
